Dryer Vent Cleaning, Central Oregon

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Central Oregon

A clogged dryer vent makes your dryer work twice as hard, wear out sooner, and in the worst case, catch fire. We connect homeowners across Central Oregon with an independent, C-DET certified local provider who cleans the full vent run and documents the result.

  • Full run cleaning, from the dryer to the outside exit cap
  • Before and after airflow readings, plus a photo report for your records
  • Roof exits, second story laundry, and long runs handled
  • Homes, vacation rentals, and multi-family properties

Most Central Oregon homes pay $160 to $195 for a full dryer vent cleaning, based on local prices we checked in October 2026. Your provider confirms the exact price with you before any work begins. See the full cost guide.

Why this matters: dryer fires are a cleaning problem

The U.S. Fire Administration reports roughly 2,900 residential dryer fires every year in the United States, causing an estimated 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss annually. The leading cause, cited in about a third of those fires, is failure to clean the dryer and its vent.

Lint is fuel. It builds up inside the vent line a little more with every load, restricts airflow, traps heat at the dryer, and eventually the dryer is blowing hot, moist, lint laden air against a blockage it cannot move. Central Oregon adds its own twist: long vent runs in newer construction, roof exits that collect nests and snow, and vacation homes where a dryer runs load after load on turnover day.

An annual professional cleaning removes the buildup from the full run, not just the lint trap, and gives you airflow numbers that prove the vent is moving air the way it should.

Warning signs your vent is clogged

  • Clothes take two cycles, or come out still damp
  • The laundry room feels hot or humid while the dryer runs
  • A burning smell, or the dryer shuts off mid cycle
  • The outside vent flap barely opens while the dryer runs
  • Lint collecting around or behind the dryer
  • It has been more than a year since the last cleaning

Any one of these is reason enough to book. Two or more means do not wait for a convenient season.

What a full cleaning includes

The full vent run

The dryer is pulled out, the transition hose is cleaned or flagged for replacement, and the entire vent line is brushed and vacuumed from the laundry room to the exterior exit. Not a quick blow out from one end.

Proof, in writing

Airflow and pressure readings before and after the cleaning, with before and after photos, delivered as a report you can keep. Useful for your own records, and essential for rental owners and HOAs.

Exit cap and roof work

The exterior termination is inspected, cleared of nests and lint mats, and checked for a working damper. Roof exits are serviced from the roof when conditions allow safe access.

How it works

1

Request service

Use the form or call. Tell us the town, the property type, and anything odd about the vent: roof exit, second floor laundry, a dryer that takes two cycles.

2

We match and confirm

High Desert Vent Care routes your request to an independent local provider who covers your town, and confirms the price range and a scheduling window with you.

3

Cleaning and report

The provider cleans the full run, verifies airflow, and sends your photo and airflow report. You pay the provider directly for the work performed.

Service areas across Central Oregon

This is not a Bend only service. The provider network covers Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, including the smaller communities where most companies will not bother to build a page, let alone make the drive.

Manage rentals or an HOA? Per-unit pricing, photo and airflow reports for owner records, and scheduling between guests. See the property managers page.

Common questions

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Once a year for a typical household. Every six months makes sense for large families, homes with several pets, and vacation rentals where the dryer runs hard on turnover days. If the dryer is already slow or hot, do not wait for the calendar.

Who actually cleans the vent?

An independent local provider, not High Desert Vent Care. We coordinate requests and hold the standard: C-DET certified technicians (the Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician credential from CSIA) and a documented airflow and photo report on every job.

Can roof-exit vents be cleaned in winter?

Often yes, but snow and ice change the math. If the roof is icy or the exit cap is buried, the provider will not climb, and should not. The roof portion gets rescheduled; interior and ground level work can usually still happen. Booking roof exits in the fall, before the first storm cycle, avoids the problem entirely.

How long does it take, and do I need to be home?

Most single family homes take 45 to 90 minutes. Someone 18 or older should be present to let the technician in and run the dryer for the final airflow test. Rental owners can arrange lockbox or manager access through the property managers program.
